DSSSB Delhi Recruitment Board: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Friday said that the recruitment of teachers in government-aided schools will now be done by the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) with transparency. He said that till now the school selection board used to select government-aided teachers and there were many complaints of irregularities in the process. He said that the new process would speed up the recruitment of teachers and ensure the selection of highly qualified people.
Sisodia said that quality education for children can be ensured only through the best and most qualified teachers. The government has decided to create a standardized process for the selection of teachers in government-aided schools. Under the new standard recruitment process, the Directorate of Education (DOE) will send requisitions to DSSSB every year for schools to fill vacancies.
Thereafter, DSSSB will select three candidates through a written test for each vacant post. The Staff Selection Committee of Aided Schools will select one of these three shortlisted candidates in the final stage of recruitment.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the schools funded through the new recruitment process would get the best teachers and corruption in the old recruitment process would be curbed immediately. He further said that the Education Department will not have to spend much time in the redressal of recruitment-related complaints. According to the Department of Education, Government of Delhi, there are 207 government-aided schools in Delhi, with over 8,300 teachers. Ninety-five percent of teachers’ salaries are paid by the Delhi government.
