JEE Main 2023 Session-1: Students showed enthusiasm even on the last day of the application process for the first session of JEE Main 2023, the country’s biggest engineering entrance examination. After a large number of students applied, this year the number of students appearing in the JEE Main exam is set to be higher than last year. Last year eight lakh 72 thousand students appeared in this examination, this year more than nine lakh students registered for the examination in the first phase itself. JEE Main January exam will be held from January 24, 2023, to January 31, 2023, in 14 shifts.
JEE Main 2023 increased applications after the change in board eligibility rules
Career counseling expert Amit Ahuja said that after the clarification issued by the National Testing Agency, the organizing body of the examination, regarding the board eligibility, the number of students applying increased, because such students also started applying, whose 12th board scored less than 75 percent but are expected to be in the top-20 percentile in their respective boards. As per the notification issued by NTA, in addition to 75% board eligibility, top-20 percentile board eligibility is valid for NIT-Triple IT admission through JoSAA and CSAB counseling, as the admission eligibility for both these counseling remains the same.
JEE Main 2023 Number of unique candidates possible up to 11 lakhs
Nine lakh 10 thousand students have applied for the January JEE Main exam, which is about 38 thousand students more than last year. For the April exam, students will have to apply again in the month of February, in view of the trend of the previous years, in the month of February, about two lakh students apply with new registration, so this year the number of unique candidates in both the JEE Main sessions is 11. Can reach up to lakhs.
JEE Main 2023 January exam admit card till January 20
NTA may give a special opportunity for correction in the applications made by the students this year. The admit cards for the January exam will be issued by January 20. Apart from JEE Main exam, students can also apply for VIT, Manipal, SRM, UPES, COMEDK, BITS, Kalinga, Amrita, Narasimonjee Mumbai, PACE Bengaluru, Shivnadar engineering institutes, many of which are under process .
