Modi government built 262 new medical colleges in last 9 years

 

Education Minister said- The Modi government has approved 692 Eklavya schools in tribal and backward districts of the country to provide quality education to the underprivileged communities.

Before 2014, there were a total of 380 medical colleges in the country, but with the efforts of the government, 262 new medical colleges have been created, which provide opportunities for aspiring medical professionals and fulfill the shortage of health care related institutions.

In addition to setting up new medical colleges, the education minister also highlighted the government’s commitment to the areas of medical education and healthcare, adding that the Modi government has taken steps to ensure access to proper education for underprivileged communities, including the tribal and backward classes of the country. 692 Eklavya schools have also been approved in the districts. The minister also emphasized on the works of the government on strengthening the healthcare infrastructure.

The Education Minister lauded the prompt response of Indian industries during the Corona pandemic, as they not only started producing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits, but also started exporting them to other countries.

He said that 15 new AIIMS were dedicated in the last 9 years due to the determination of the Modi government to provide quality health services, thereby ensuring better health care facilities for all citizens.
