UGC changes rules for appointment of Assistant Professor, NET/SET/SLET mandatory in recruitment

 

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has changed the rules related to the appointment of Assistant Professors in all higher level institutions.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued new rules regarding the appointment of Assistant Professors ie Assistant Professors in all higher level institutions. Now NET / SET / SLET has been made mandatory for the recruitment of Assistant Professors ie Assistant Professors in higher education institutions by making them the minimum qualification criteria. A notification in this regard has been issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

At the same time, UGC Chairman Professor M Jagadish Kumar tweeted that PhD will remain an optional eligibility criteria for becoming an assistant professor in universities and colleges.
