Avadh Ojha is known to almost every student preparing for UPSC. He is teaching more than one thousand students daily in online-offline mode.

You must have heard about the famous teacher Avadh Ojha Sir, who teaches students preparing for UPSC. Today people know him in every corner of the country. Before making the students prepare for UPSC, Awadh sir himself has also prepared for UPSC. He told me that once upon a time I used to prepare for UPSC in Allahabad (Prayagraj). However, I did not get the success that I had hoped for. UPSC didn’t crack even on the last attempt and after that, I headed home.

didn’t feel like studying

He has reached here after 22 years of struggle. Talking about himself, Awadh said, ‘I was born in the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh. Father’s job was in the post office. I was not very good at my studies. I was an average student. He told me that I was never interested in studies. However, when I reached Allahabad for preparation, it proved to be the turning point of my life. Awadh said that I used to study in Bahraich, but by mistake, I filled out the form for Allahabad University and then got admission.

Didn’t know about UPSC till graduation

Awadh told that his parents wanted him to prepare for medical. But he was not interested in this subject. He said that he was like Angulimala in the beginning. He was addicted to alcohol and cigarettes, but the company of good people weaned him away from it. Actually, Angulimala was a dacoit of the Buddhist period, who used to kill people in the forests and wear garlands on their fingers. However, Angulimala became a monk after coming under the shelter of Lord Buddha. Awadh had no idea about UPSC during his graduation from Allahabad University, but his fellow students were preparing for it.

How did teaching start?

Avadh Ojha told me that after seeing everyone, I also prepared for UPSC, but did not get success. The reason behind this was that the basic was not clear. After failing at UPSC decided not to do the job. Regarding starting UPSC coaching, Awadh told that after being expelled from the house, he got a chance to teach history in coaching. But I didn’t know how to teach. However, I did coaching here and that’s how my studies began. He told that the children liked his way of teaching. In the year 2005, he came to Delhi and opened UPSC coaching in Mukherjee Nagar.
